To be a volunteer you need to:
When you want to book a volunteer place at one of our projects, you can send an e-mail with your motivation, preferences and resume (no previous experience in volunteer work is required) to: info@barilocheschool.com If we approve your application, you will be informed about it by mail. The admission to a specific volunteer project can be arranged by mail or when you arrive in Bariloche. Important:
OPTION 1: Dogs and cats shelter : If you're visiting Bariloche, please do visit the Municipal Shelter- maybe you would like to take some of our dogs for a walk - good for you and good for them... Give a dog a hand... Give a dog a home... Minimum stay: 1 week - Spanish level required: basic - Hours per week: 4 - Cost: u$s 50 Emily and Ben ( Australia) OPTION 2: National Park Nahuel Huapi: Volunteer programs in National Park Nahuel Huapi take place during January & February. Volunteers will assist the tourists, help with the maintenance of the tracks and of the historical museum, patrol the tracks to detect problems, and related tasks. Volunteers will be sharing a house at the Park with other local (Argentine) volunteers who are training to be park rangers.
OPTION 3: Social Sustainable Projects: The "Conscious Child-Raising" Foundation The Project aims to improve the parent-child relationship and their communication within a space of mutual respect. We offer single and family office hours in different modalities like domiciliary visits. Support Groups for: Early Infancy parents, Preadolescent and adolescent parents, Publication of articles in local newspapers and magazines, Work in marginal communities at risk, etc. Minimum stay: 1 week - Spanish level required: intermediate - Hours per week: 6- Cost: free
OPTION 4: Education, Health, Social Integration Since 1995, this asociation provides a variety of non-formal educational opportunities to people with a disability. In their Educational and Cultural Center they organise courses in visual and performing arts as well as vocational courses on computers and activities in gardening and textile production. The vision: support the development of an inclusive world, where persons with a disability can live in dignified conditions of housing, work, health and education. Available: March-December -Spanish level required: advanced - Minimum stay: 1 week - Activities: in the afternoon. Cost: Free
OPTION 5: English assistant at schools: If you want to be part of a group of Argentinean teachers, you can participate of any of our educational projects in either schools that are located in poor neighbourhoods close to Bariloche or in more remote towns. Each volunteer candidate will be interviewed by the school. Your task will be appointed according to your background, wishes and opportunities available.During the School period, you can work as volunteer helping with: English homework, Parents activities (painting the school, cleaning, etc). Some volunteers have given private classes in a poor neighbourhood to the teens that need extra help with the school subjects.
